pH 2.9

Lactic Acid is a non-irritating rapid exfoliator.
If you are new to chemical peeling, this is the peel to try.
If you have sensitive skin, lactic acid should work well for you.
If you've hit a plateau with other acid treatments, this is a great alternative.

Because Lactic Acid is a naturally occurring human metabolite, there is much less chance of allergic reaction using this type of acid peel. If you are looking for a peel with a good acidic value and with virtually no irritation, then this product is for you.

Before
After

Benefits:

  • Loosens and removes the surface debris on the skin.
  • Softens comedones.
  • Deep cleans pores.
  • Softens fine lines.
  • Extremely effective at stimulating natural collagen production
for a fresh, moistened look. Great for mature skin.
  • This particular formulation contains licorice extract, an extremely effective botanical skin-lightening additive.
  • Is a non-irritating acid treatment and great for sensitive skin.
  • No "down time", no noticeable flaking of the skin, just a sloughing-off of the dried, glued together sebum and surface skin debris.
Caution:

Persons with milk allergies, should not use Lactic Acid products.

Savings:

  • Lactic acid is very expensive and typically costs about $75 for one salon treatment in most parts of the country.
  • Take advantage of the huge savings you'll get with our kits.

Acne Clients:

You are beginning your treatments with pores that are congested/clogged with embedded dirt, dead skin cells, and sebum. As you begin your treatments the sebum just under the surface will likely emerge as blemishes. This is normal. Breakouts may seem more pronounced since the acid is cleaning the pores more quickly than with regular cleansing products. Typically within the first 3 weeks, the skin begins to show improved clarity with very few breakouts. Please try to be patient during this time. Deep cleansing and exfoliation is a "process" that takes some time to work.

Extremely oily skin types, consider using our beta serum as your first-step before doing your peel to "cut through" the oil. While it is not a necessity, it will help extremely oily skin clients to realize better results with any of our acid peels. And, you can use it between peels to help control oil.
Beta Hydroxy Serum

General Cautions:

  • Never use manual exfoliators nor scrubbing brushes within 24 hours of using a peel.
  • Stop using retinoids, benzoyl peroxides, acne products and any other drying agents 24 hours before and after using an alpha hydroxy or beta hydroxy peel.
  • If you are allergic to aspirin products, never use a salicylic acid nor beta hydroxy peel.
  • Never apply a peel without doing a patch-test first and waiting 48 hours for results.
  • Never apply a chemical peel to inflamed skin.
  • Always read product directions in their entirety and don't take shortcuts.
  • When in doubt about a caution, please write or call us for more information.
  • Directions for use:

    Always patch test!

Patch test the areas you plan to treat. If you are doing a facial peel, patch test a small area, about the size of a quarter near the jawline.  Follow the directions, below, rinse thoroughly then wait 24-48 hours to make sure your skin tolerates the peeling serum nicely

    Directions for doing your peel:

Cleanse your skin with a non-acid cleanser. We recommend our Green Tea Pomegranate Cleanser. Rinse thoroughly and pat skin dry.

pH Prep Solution – Dispense onto a cotton ball or pad and wipe your face to remove oils and dirt from the skin’s surface. If your skin is dry or sensitive this step can be omitted or substituted with Witch Hazel.

Your first efforts at peeling: Begin with fewer minutes to ensure a safe experience. Then increase the on-skin-time as your own sensitivity levels allow.

Apply the peeling serum. Begin at the forehead and work your way down the face, using thin layers of serum. Don’t rub the serum into the face. Just apply topically, making sure your skin is nicely covered with a thin layer(s).

Leave the peel on for up to 3-10 minutes.

Rinse with warm-to-cool water and cleanse again if desired. Make sure the serum has been completely removed from your skin. We offer a stand-alone Post Peel Neutralizer if you’d like to use it to ensure proper neutralization. Moisturize with a non-acid, non-retinoid moisturizer. We offer Argan Oil and  Green Tea Moisturizer.

    After the peel:
Your skin may feel warm or appear pink. This is normal. However if, during the above process, your skin burns remove the peel immediately with cool water and/or use our Post Peel Neutralizer to stop the peel from processing. The above peels may not produce much in the way of visible peeling, but they are indeed rapidly exfoliating your skin. You will feel the softness immediately post-peel and most certainly the next morning. Your pores will be clean and skin texture will be more refined and radiant.
Always use an SPF of at least 30 for several days after peeling. Freshly peel skin is photosensitive and needs SPF protection. If your foundation contains an SPF factor of 30+, this is acceptable as well.

Use weekly for 8-10 weeks to see optimal results.
