You should always begin a peeling program by patch testing the skin to make sure you will have no sensitivities to the recipe selected.
Begin with the 20% recipe first, then adjust up or down in percentage once you have finished your patch test. This peel, non-buffered at 20%, will be as strong as 40% buffered products offered online.
The kit will allow you to mix a recipe unique to your skin type....make weaker or stronger.....a light exfoliator or a deeper peeling product.....whatever you personally need. Multiple products not needed. This is a wonderfully versatile product.
Post Peel: Sunscreen is needed after any peeling treatment with an SPF Factor of 30 or higher.
Issues with darker skin tones: If you have darker skin tones, strong glycolic acid may cause uneven lightening, in patches, on the skin, and should not be used in high concentrations. Please refer to our 30% glycolic kit, or our 40% lactic acid kit available on.
Cautions:
Never use this peel at full strength.
Always begin at the lowest strength and patch-test your skin before using on the entire facial area.

Soap Neutralizes 70% glycolic Acid Peel!
If you are using soap-based products (sodium lauryl sulfate or sodium laureth sulfate), they can diminish or completely neutralize results.
You can remedy this by using a gentle facial scrub 24 hours before your patch test and/or peel. Our Green Tea Pomegranate Cleansing Gel (available here ), Aveeno cleansing lotions, or Aveeno cleansing bars are soap-free and are readily available at any Walmart or drug store.
Additionally, using a toner such as our Mandelic Acid Toner will help to remove surface residue before you begin your peel.
General Information:
Each person's level of sensitivity is going to be different. Begin with the 20% recipe and patch test a sensitive area such as the side of the neck.
Wait 24 hours to see if there is any irritation, rash, or other noticeable signs of over-sensitivity.
Remember, you are using a non-buffered 70% glycolic Acid Peel with an acid reducer. It will be stronger than the buffered products you have used in the past.
--Do not apply to skin that has open lesions, cold sores, etc.
--Do not use on sunburned skin, irritated skin, or skin that is being treated with prescription strength products such as Accutane, Differin, Retin A or Retinol.
Ethnic Skin Colorations and Possible Issues: 70% glycolic Acid Peel can cause patches of lighter skin on darker ethnic skin tones.
Begin at the 20% level, do your patch test on an inconspicuous area, and make sure that the level of strength you have chosen does not cause discoloration issues.
You will need:
--Any type of cup or custard dish filled with warm water (no soap) for cleaning the eye-dropper.
--Kitchen timer or watch with sweep-hand
--Sink filled with lukewarm-cool, soapy water with a mirror.
--The contents of your glycolic kit.
--Moisturizer of your choice, but one that is acid-free for post-peel use.
--Washcloth
--Cotton balls or pads
Pre-Peel Heads-Up:
Do your peel in an area where you have access to a sink and a mirror.
-
Lukewarm-cool soapy water will neutralize any burning sensations. If you've mixed the solution too strongly, gently remove the solution with lukewarm/cool soapy water until the acid solution has been completely removed.
-
After your treatment, always use sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher. Use for 1 week post peel, as your skin will be very photo-sensitive.
Mixing the Solution:
Begin with the 20% solution ONLY as your first effort and as your patch test.
Keep track of any recipe changes you make to suit your unique skin-type.
DO NOT RE-USE YOUR SOLUTION OR POUR BACK INTO BOTTLES. ALWAYS MIX A FRESH SOLUTION EACH TIME YOU DO A PEEL.
